 WSOP final results 2020

Due to COVID-19, the annual WSOP in Las Vegas was forced to postpone, and this popular poker tournament series moved online and rapidly set new benchmarks in the world of online poker. The online international 2020 World Series of Poker organized by World Series of Poker (WSOP) was held from July 1 to September 6 with 85 bracelet events, 31 on WSOP.com and 54 on GGPoker.

The brand’s prestigious tournament attracted 5,802 entries who took a shot at glory, cash, and bling at the Online WSOP 2020 Main Event. With a prize pool of $27,559,500 in the $5,000 buy-in in NLHE event was the largest tournament prize pool in online poker history. $1.3 million were given to the top four places. The champ of WSOP would walk away with $3.9 million and the runner-up with a whopping amount of $2.7 million. Third place would take away $1.9 million.

At the start of second day 1,171 players were left, which means that approximately 400 players were knocked out outside of the money during early action, including all-time WSOP bracelet champion Phill Hellmuth and high stakes superstar Fedor Holz.

At the end of Day 2, with 18.4 million Bryan Piccioli bagged the lead, followed by Michael Kane with 15.9 million and Stoyan Madanzhiev with 15.2 million.

The final day of the historic event started with only 38 players, each aiming for their first WSOP championship title. The bracelet winner and the 7th place finisher in 2017 WSOP main event Bryan Piccioli began with the chip lead. But he didn't last long and eventually finished in 23rd place. After Bryan’s burst out, the other players remaining were Benjamin Rolle, Samuel Vousden, and Stefan Schillhabel.

While Samuel Vousden and Benjamin Rolle both busted at the final table in 12th and 11th place, Stefan did make it to the final table and came 7th for $467,825

Online WSOP Final Table Heads-Up

Bulgaria and China played the final Main Event WSOP Online series 2020 for the title, bracelet, glory and 3.9 million dollars in cash. Stoyan Mandanzhiev and Wenling Gao were in the final heads-up play.  The female professional poker player making all the way to the heads-up play was probably the biggest story of WSOP 2020 Online Main Event. This was the first time in the poker history that a woman had an opportunity to become a Poker World Champion.

The WSOP final table was started after the elimination of Mariano Martiradonna in 10th place ($161,686). American Tyler Rueger began the final table as a chip leader, with Madanzhiev right behind him. Samuel Taylor was the first to get defeated by Gao. Following him was Tyler Cornell with 8th position, Stefan Schillhabel with 7th, Joao Santos with 6th, Satoshi Isomae with 5th and Thomas Ward with 4th place.

Tyler Rueger went all-in with ace-queen, and Gao called him with pocket kings. Gao continued her momentum and defeated Rueger in the 3rd spot. Finally, the heads-up play began with two strongest finalists with almost equal stacks.

In the final hand, Gao received pocket aces, but Stoyan managed to flop a nut straight, giving Stoyan the prize money of $3,904,686 and his first WSOP gold bracelet. This was the biggest triumph in Stoyan’s career. Like all other WSOP Main Event winners, this was a life-changing achievement for Stoyan Madanzhiv. Before this he had no winnings to boast of. He had only $31,628 in winnings, and no WSOP live cashes as per The Hendon Mob. Today, he is a multimillionaire.
