The ladies have arrived, and they are awesome! Here are the leading poker queens of India who busted the myths and made a name for themselves in the world of poker. Yes, they are stunning, but it is their brain that will captivate you.  

Nikita Luther

We began our list with Nikita Luther for a good reason - she is the first and to date female poker player in the country to win a WSOP bracelet in 2018. She ranks 16th in India All Time Money List with total live earnings of $338,512. As a mathematics fan, she was attracted towards the game because of her strong interest in probability theories and psychology, leading her to take the game seriously as a career. 

The math nerd is popularly known as the ‘Superwoman’ of Indian poker and ranks 1st in the GPI India ladies of 2020. With more than 10 years of experience in poker, she fits perfectly in the professional category. She says in order to be a good player, it is important to continue studying and training hard for the game.

In 2017, she participated for the first time in WSOP, at $3000 NLHE where she ranked 71st and won $8,173. In the same year in June, she finished fifth in WPT500 Aria and earned a hefty $65,000 in the prize. Nikita also won the HK$ 3600 + 400 No-Limit Hold’em - Team Event at Macau Poker Cup 26, Macau. She also bagged the first position at DPT February edition and claimed  DPT title in the 14,500 + 500 NLH - 15K Deep Dive event. Her most recent cash included $3,353, which she got by finishing 24th in the WPT Main Event.

Muskan Sethi

Muskan Sethi is well known in the poker world for breaking myths that poker is only a man’s game and added a new dimension by achieving success at the green table. Her ranking in India All Time Money List is 73rd with a total live earnings of $94,058. Apart from being a pro player, she works for an NGO full time. She is recognized for being the first Indian female poker professional player to receive the Women’s Achiever Award by the President of India. 

Muskan Sethi, a Delhi based girl, started her road to poker stardom by playing on Facebook for fun and then there was no turning back for her. She has been taking part in numerous domestic and international poker tournaments. She amazed everyone with her impeccable poker skills while encouraging other women at the same time. 

The best score secured by her was by finishing 5th at  Deltin Poker Tournament High Roller in Goa for $6,682 (INR 4,27,600). In WSOP 2018, Las Vegas Muskan cashed $2,242 in a $1,500 NLH - The Closer for a 453rd finish. Also, she won $1,343 for a 44th place in a $500 + 50 No-Limit Hold’em Event at The Wynn Summer Classic, Las Vegas. 

An aspiring poker player and a social player, Muskan has been playing poker since the age of 12. However, it was a few years ago when she professionally took up poker and began playing live poker tournaments, like the WSOP, WPT, EPT, and DPT (Deltin Poker Tournament). 

Minissha Lamba

The name sounds familiar, isn’t it. Minissha Lamba is known for her stunning performance in many Bollywood movies. For quite some time, she has been away from the limelight, and now we know why. She has become a professional poker player and ranks third among the female poker players in India.  She ranks 79th in India All Time Money List with total live earnings of $88,077.  

Minissha has made a couple of appearances in some India’s renowned poker events like the Indian poker championship and Deltin poker tournament in Goa among others. In 2017 she participated in the WPT500 Aria Poker Tournament in Las Vegas. It was her first international poker tournament. She won the first title in 2017 in the DPT Ladies Event for ₹70,000 ($1,091). 

In 2018, Minissha missed winning the second title and finished runner-up in the DPT Colossus 50K Warm-up for ₹5,73,700 ($8,573) and 3rd place in the DPT Colossus 200K High Roller for ₹14,36,000 ($21,466). She ended 2018 in style by finishing 2nd position in the WPT India High Roller, her biggest score to date of ₹23,63,000 ($33.058).

Amrita Sethi

A well-known fashion designer, model and a talented poker player, Muskan Sethi wears many hats. She started playing cash games and tournaments in 2016, and her journey has been good so far. After a 10 years of fruitful a career in designing and modelling, where she was acclaimed as Miss. Delhi 2009, she joined the poker circuit in 2016. 

With her aggressive style of playing, she was able to make significant leaps. Amrita is a part of a renowned poker site and will be representing them at numerous live poker events and online poker tournaments. 

She ranks 368th in India All Time Money List and holds live earnings of $11,640. Amrita’s best live cash of ₹532,000 ($7,767) came in 2018 when she finished 6th in the Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) July High Roller.

Suchi Chamaria

Suchi Chamaria also known as the first lady of Indian poker is married to India’s poker pioneer and Team India PokerStars pro Aditya Agarwal.  She was a breakout player in the year 2019. She is also creating big waves in Indian poker circuit. 

Suchi was familiar with poker but never played a hand before she met Aditya. She got smitten by his table stories which inspired her to learn the game and led her to accompany him to WSOP and compete in the tournament. From here she became a regular player at many tournaments around the world. 

With a strong coach at her side, she certainly is a talent to be watched out for. In the 2018 Baadshah Gaming Live Tournament (BLT3) series, the third edition ₹35K Main Event, she finished 4th for ₹3,25,000 ($4,397) after qualifying online. For the past year, she has been smashing scores both online as well as offline and is definitely one of the best things in the poker world.
