Poker: Favorite Hands of Top Poker Players

Poker is a hard way to make an easy living. There cannot be a better statement to describe the game. Every Poker Player who has made a mark in the game over the years has undoubtedly grinded their way to success.

 

Although the game has high level of skills associated with it but we can never deny the fact that there will always be some degree of luck involved. Having played over a million hands, the top players have often found out that some of the best hands have not been so kind to them, whereas a few other hands have mostly worked out in their favor. Here is a list of the favorite hands of some of the top Poker players:

 

  • Doyle Brunson: Texas Dolly who is also known as the Godfather of Poker has an uncanny favorite hand as 10-2 (Ten Deuce).

 

  • Daniel Negreanu: Kid Poker, who is a living Poker sensation, specially owing to his success in some of the biggest tournaments, like WSOP and WPT, loves to play 10-7 (Ten Seven) Off-Suite.

 

  • Phil Hellmuth: The Poker Brat, who is also a member of WSOP’s Poker Hall of Fame, with a record 14 WSOP Bracelets to his name, has an extreme liking for the Big Slick, AK (Ace King).

 

  • Antonio Esfandiari: The Magician holds the record for winning the largest cash prize in Poker, by winning the ‘Big One for One Drop’ for $18, 346, 673. Antonio’s favorite hand is 7-9 (Seven Nine).

 

  • Phil Ivey: Be it cash games or tourneys, no player has arguably been more consistent and lethal than Phil Ivey. With Ten WSOP Bracelets and one WPT Title to his name, he is widely known as the best all-around player in the World. Ivey’s favorite hand is Pocket Nines, 99.

 

  • Michael Mizrachi: The Grinder is another player, who is widely respected and feared in the Poker Arena. He has won two WSOP and two WPT titles and also notably finished fifth in the WSOP Main Event 2010. The Grinder often loves to start of with Pocket Fours, 44.

 

  • Chris Ferguson: Chris “Jesus” Ferguson is a Poker veteran and the winner of WSOP Main Event, 2000. Including his Main Event win, Chris has five WSOP titles to his name and he also won the 2008 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship. A-9 (Ace Nine) which help him win the WSOP Main Event, 2000, is his favorite hand.
